VATICAN CITY - Yesterday afternoon, 03 March 2016, Pope Francis received Cardinal Angelo Amato, sdb, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in a private audience. In the course of the audience, the Holy Father authorized the Congregation to promulgate decrees regarding:
- a miracle attributed to the intercession of the Blessed Manuel González García, bishop of Palencia, founder of the Congregation of the Eucharistic Missionaries of Nazareth and the Eucharistic Reparation Union; born on 25 February 1877 in Seville (Spain) and died on 04 January 1940 in Palencia (Spain); beatified on 29 April 2001;
- a miracle attributed to the intercession of the Blessed ÉLISABETH CATEZ (in religion: ÉLISABETH OF THE TRINITY), professed religious of the Order of Discalced Carmelites; born on 18 July 1880 in Avord, Cher (France) and died on 09 November 1906 in Dijon, Côte-d’Or (France); beatified on 25 November 1984;
- a miracle, attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God HENRI GRIALOU (in religion: MARIE-EUGÈNE OF THE CHILD JESUS) , professed priest of the Order of Discalced Carmelites and founder of the Secular Institute “Notre-Dame de Vie”; born on 02 December 1894 in Le Gua, Aveyron (France) and died on 27 March 1967 in Venasque, Vaucluse (France); heroic virtues confirmed on 19 December 2011;
- a miracle, attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God MARÍA ANTONIA DE PAZ FIGUEROA (in religion: MARIA ANTONIA OF SAINT JOSEPH), founder of the Beaterio of the Spiritual Exercise of Buenos Aires (now the Congregation of the Daughters of the Divine Savior); born in 1730 in Silípica, Santiago del Estero (Argentina) and died on 06 March 1799 in Buenos Aires (Argentina); heroic virtues confirmed on 01 July 2010;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God STEFANO FERRANDO, professed priest of the Salesian Society of Don Bosco, titular archbishop of Troina, bishop of Shillong, and founder of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians; born on 28 September 1895 in Rossiglione, Genoa (Italy) and died on 20 June 1978 in Genova-Quarto, Genoa (Italy);
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Enrico Battista Stanislao Verjus, professed priest of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, titular Bishop of Limyra, coadjutor of the Apostolic Vicar of New Guinea; born on 26 May 1860 in Oleggio, Novara (Italy) and died there on 13 November 1892;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God GIOVANNI BATTISTA QUILICI, priest of the diocese of Livorno and founder of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Crucified; born on 26 April 1791 in Livorno (Italy) and died there on 10 June 1844;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God BERNARDO MATTIO, priest of the diocese of Saluzzo; born on 02 January 1845 in Saluzzo, Cuneo (Italy) and died on 11 April 1914 in Dronero, Cuneo (Italy);
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God QUIRICO PIGNALBERI, professed priest of the Order of Friars Minor Conventuals; born on 11 July 1891 in Serrone, Frosinone (Italy) and died on 18 July 1982 in Anzio Colonia, Rome (Italy);
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God TEODORA CAMPOSTRINI, founder of the Congregation of the Minim Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Sorrows; born on 26 October 1788 in Verona (Italy) and died there on 22 May 1860;
